Event Information

Alcohol will be available for purchase and consumption at the Freedom 250 Grand Prix venue within the alcohol perimeter. The alcohol perimeter is located on the National Mall within the Air National Guard Fan Zone; no alcohol will be permitted to leave this area. For those guests that do consume alcohol, please do so responsibly and be considerate of your fellow fans. Guests must be at least 21 years old and present a valid photo ID with proof of age when purchasing alcohol at Freedom 250 Grand Prix. The event reserves the right to refuse to serve alcohol to any person, for any reason, and will contact police if a guest is acting in a manner that is contrary to the law, or that may endanger themselves, others, or any property. Alcohol is strictly prohibited inside the paddock and pit lane.

Animals are not allowed inside the gates except for service animals aiding an individual with a disability. A service animal is defined by the ADA as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability. Tasks performed by the dog must be directly related to the person’s disability. Emotional support, therapy, comfort or companion animals that provide comfort by being with a person are NOT qualified by the ADA as service animals.

Individuals should not wear clothing that displays inappropriate language, abusive messages, or offensive images. The clothing worn should also offer appropriate body coverage that abides by the public nature of this event. Closed-toe shoes are recommended but not required.

All bags entering the Freedom 250 Grand Prix venue must be clear. Only clear bags that do not exceed 12”L x 6”W x 12”H will be allowed within the venue. Any bags that are NOT clear or are larger than the specified dimensions will not be permitted. Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items and diaper bags after proper inspection at all gates. Please limit the number of items you bring to the venue on event days.

One (1) empty plastic water bottle (including single use and refillable plastic style water bottles) will be permitted through the gates to be used at the refill stations throughout the venue. The Freedom 250 Grand Prix will be a cashless venue. All concessions will be available by cashless payment only.

Freedom 250 Grand Prix is committed to providing a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for everyone. To accomplish this, we ask all race weekend guests to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner that does not interfere with the enjoyment of others. Coolers of any kind are not allowed inside the gates of the Freedom 250 Grand Prix. Exceptions will only be made for medical equipment.

Fans are encouraged to visit the Freedom 250 Grand Prix digital event guide, which is an event specific site containing wayfinding, schedule, maps, etc. Check back closer to the event to access the official Freedom 250 Grand Prix digital event guide. Fans are also encouraged to download the free INDYCAR app to tune into the communication between drivers and teams live during the race. The INDYCAR app also offers information on each of the drivers and incredible in-car views while the race is occurring.

Unmanned aerial vehicles, commonly known as drones and also referred to as remotely piloted aircraft, and similar remote-controlled devices are not permitted through the gates or on the Freedom 250 Grand Prix property.

Weapons of any type, including knives of any length (including pocketknives), firearms, ammunition, pyrotechnics, smoke bombs, explosives, fireworks, toy guns, range finders, and any other item deemed dangerous by management are strictly prohibited.

Trained medical personnel will be on site at the first aid stations located throughout the venue during open gate hours on race weekend. Specific locations of the first aid stations can be found on the venue map. In case of an emergency, call 911 and medical personnel will respond immediately. Any guests that need assistance should locate a guest services representative.

Outside food is not allowed through the Freedom 250 Grand Prix gates. Fans are welcome to bring one (1) empty plastic water bottle (including single use and refillable plastic style water bottles) through the gates to be used at the refill stations throughout the venue. Water refill stations will be available throughout both the Stars and the Stripes areas. No outside beverages will be permitted. Food and beverage services will operate during open gate hours on Saturday, August 22 and Sunday, August 23. Full-service concession stands will be serving a variety of both food and beverages.

All tickets for the Freedom 250 Grand Prix have been distributed. No additional tickets will be made available to the public.

The Freedom 250 Grand Prix will continue the race, rain, or shine. In the case of severe weather (high winds, lightning, heavy rains, etc.), on-track activity may be delayed until the weather is cleared.

All weather communication will be provided to guests via PA system and big screen announcements, along with updates on social media and our website.

Any guests that have lost an item at the track during race weekend should head to one of our Information booth locations throughout the venue. These are labeled on our venue map. You can also e-mail info@freedom250gp.com to report that you have lost an item. If you have found a lost item, we encourage you to turn that item into any information booth or guest services staff.

A designated mother’s room will be available on property in both Stars and the Stripes areas for nursing mothers to use during the event.

Paddock passes are unavailable at this event due to the limited space within the NTT INDYCAR SERIES Paddock.

Parking at the Freedom 250 Grand Prix is extremely limited. There is NO designated venue parking. Guests are encouraged to use public transportation and/or rideshare options to get to the venue.

The NTT INDYCAR SERIES race during the Freedom 250 Grand Prix will be broadcast live on the INDYCAR Radio Network and can be heard through the INDYCAR App Powered by NTT DATA, free to all fans regardless of cellular carrier.

Portable toilets will be available throughout the facility for customer use, this includes ADA portable toilets at each restroom bay.

Smoking inside the Freedom 250 Grand Prix is strictly prohibited. This also includes e-cigarettes, vaporizers, lighters, and smokeless tobacco. Devices and e-cigarettes will NOT be permitted through the venue gates.

Collapsible canvas wagons and umbrella strollers are permitted but cannot be used in grandstands, viewing platforms or in other structures (these items may be subject to additional security checks). Large buggy strollers & hard sided wagons are not permitted.

All Freedom 250 Grand Prix tickets have been allocated out. There are no remaining tickets available.

A limited number of grandstand seats and viewing platforms will be available in both the Stars and the Stripes areas. All grandstand seating will be aluminum benches, available on a first-come, first-served basis. No reserved grandstand seating is available.

ADA accessible viewing platforms will be located throughout the venue. Additional viewing platforms are reserved exclusively for ADA guests.

Water bottle filling stations will be located throughout the site for use during race weekend. Fans are permitted to bring (1) one empty plastic bottle through the gates. Cooling stations will be located inside the venue next to each medical tent marked on the venue map.
